Arrival in Kochi
Upon arrival in Kochi, you will be met by our representative and escorted to the hotel where you will stay for 2 nights.
Cochin or Kochi, also known as the “Queen of the Arabian Sea”, is one of the most beautiful natural ports in the world. Starting from the 17th century, it served as a European colonial corner in India, first for the Dutch, then for the Portuguese and the British.
Optional extra charge: A dinner party at a traditional Kerala house: This evening you have the opportunity to go visit and learn more about the local lifestyle and culture at a dinner in a traditional Kerala house. Spend time talking with the owners and learn more about their lives. You will have the opportunity to visit the Indian cuisine and learn the secrets of the ancient culinary art of Kerala. After breakfast, you will go for a walk through the oldest historical part of the city, Fort Cochin. You will visit the Mattancherry Palace (the Dutch Palace) built as a gift from the Portuguese representation for Raja Veera Kerala Varma in 1555. His frescoes and wall paintings really admire the craftsmanship of the artists. Then you will visit the ancient Jewish synagogue and the oldest Catholic church of India, the Church of St. Francis, which was built in 1503, in which at one time the remains of Vasco da Gama rested. You will also see the famous Chinese fishing nets, which is an interesting fishing technology that appeared here in the XIV-XV centuries and is still used by local fishermen.
Upon request, for an additional fee - Cycling through the old district of the city - Fort Kochi: The historic district of the commercial port of Kochi is the very corner in which the ancient charm and modern pace of life are harmoniously combined. Emerged by the Portuguese at the beginning of the 16th century on the site of a fishing village, the fort gradually turned into a town, which today is known as the historical part of the modern huge metropolis of Kochi. A walk through its cobbled old streets with cozy cafes and a romantic view of the coast, where local fishermen and their Chinese nets gather at dawn every day, will give you unforgettable impressions.
In the evening you will find a colorful performance of Kathakali, one of the oldest dance and theater arts in India. This is a symbiosis of drama, dance, music, and rituals. Actors with brightly painted faces and sophisticated lush and bright costumes play scenes from the Hindu epics Mahabharata and Ramayana.
You will also visit the local culture museum, where you will see various sculptures representing the unique forms of Kerala classical dance, a huge replica of an ethnic wooden canoe, as well as get acquainted with traditional Kerala crafts and weaving techniques of traditional saris.

After breakfast, you will go to Munnar along the scenic road. Munnar is one of the most popular mountain resorts in South India. During British rule in India, Munnar was called "Indian Switzerland" because of its picturesque hilly landscapes and cool climate. The area is rich in forests and tea plantations. Munnar is famous for its forest honey, fragrant tea, and the rare blue flower of Nile Kurunji, which blooms once in 12 years.

Upon request, for an additional fee: Hiking-trekking through the picturesque hills of Munnar: This afternoon you can have a good time by taking a short walk through the charming hills of Munnar. The route lies among the lush greenery of the hills to the top of Misapulimala (2 640 m), the second highest in the Western Ghats. On the way, you can see elephants, sambars, sloths, rare Nilgiri packs, and many tropical birds. During the ascent, you will enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the Tamil Nadu plains and the endless, green-covered Sahiyadri mountain range (at extra charge).
After breakfast, you will visit the tea plantations and the Tea Museum of the Tata Corporation, where you will learn about the processes of growing and processing different varieties of Indian tea. Then you visit the initiative charitable organization in Munnar, which focuses on the development of the hidden talents of children with various kinds of disabilities, many of whom are children of Munnar tea gatherers. Here you will get acquainted with three programs aimed at developing children's abilities and talents, with the help of which children will be able to secure a worthy future: a special education center, a program for making fabrics using prints with natural dyes and a manual paper production program and products made from it. Products made by children are sent for sale in the nearest populated areas, as well as for export to Japan and Europe. Transfer Munnar - Periyar (100 km / 4 h)

Introduction to the ancient martial art of Kalaripayattu: The Kalaripayattu complex, which is the forefather of many martial arts, also includes elements of healing and acrobatic stunts. Kalaripayattu is considered one of the oldest martial arts in the world and leads its more than 3000-year history from St. Parashuram, the unsurpassed master of all martial arts. Introduction to Kumarakom
Kumarakom is located on Vembanad Kayal, one of the largest freshwater lakes in Asia. Spread out in the middle of the magical greenery of Kerala, the lake functions as a balancing reservoir saving from floods.
